Importance of Energy Management System (EMS)

The 'Carbon Tariff' Rewriting Global Trade Rules

As reported by the Economic Daily on April 20, 2023, the European Parliament approved groundbreaking legislation on April 18 to establish the world’s first carbon import tax. Starting from 2026, a carbon tax will be imposed on high-carbon goods imported into the European Union. This marks the first time climate regulations have been incorporated into global trade rules, leading to a surge in EU carbon prices. Another form of ‘carbon tariff’ known as the CBAM Certificate (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) will specify the carbon content of products from exporting countries. If it exceeds the specified limit, additional purchases will be required. Currently, the UK, Japan, and the United States are also developing related mechanisms.”

The Essential Enhancement for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Green Competitiveness

iSure EMS Energy Management System for Efficient Carbon Reduction

With over 1.59 million businesses, representing over 98% of the total number of enterprises in the country, SMEs in Taiwan, particularly those with an export-oriented focus, as highlighted in the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ 2022 SME White Paper survey, cannot afford to overlook the significant trend of carbon tariffs that will soon impact international trade. Unlike large enterprises with abundant resources, domestic SMEs often face challenges in terms of manpower and resources when implementing Energy Management System (EMS) solutions. iSure’s EMS smart energy management solution is the most effective AI digital tool available today to assist SMEs in adapting carbon reduction strategies based on their unique characteristics and conditions. Simple and quick to implement, it enhances overall green competitiveness and aligns with the global supply chain.

Environmental-Friendly AI: A New Solution for the Earth

iSure EMS: Precision Implementation of Corporate ESG Sustainability

According to the “Global Investor ESG Survey Report” released by PwC in 2021, 79% of respondents indicated that a company’s commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors is a crucial influence on investment decisions. PwC’s “2023 Global Consumer Insights Report” also revealed that a staggering 77% of modern consumers are willing to pay a higher price for sustainable or environmentally friendly products, and 75% prioritize products produced by companies with a high ethical reputation. iSure EMS smart energy management, addressing carbon emissions and energy usage, provides a precise, efficient, and cost-effective solution through electrical appliances and AI data platforms. This enables tangible and implementable progress in driving ESG initiatives.

Precise and Cost-effective, Best Cost-Benefit Ratio

Energy management requires a sufficient amount of data, and in practice, it's not feasible to individually connect each electrical device to a separate power circuit, as it doesn't align with cost-effectiveness. The iSure EMS solution uniquely associates each electrical device with an AI smart socket, continuously monitoring and capturing usage states and power consumption statistics. This precise and efficient approach is cost-effective and allows for the installation of a large number of monitoring devices. Through big data analysis, iSure EMS smart energy management system produces results that are more precise and cost-effective compared to traditional smart meter solutions.

Fine-grained Power Consumption Analysis for Individual Devices

Current energy management solutions in the market primarily employ smart meters to implement Energy Management System (EMS). Smart meters have the capability to handle multiple circuits and monitor the power consumption of various electrical devices within a given area. However, they provide aggregated energy consumption data for each circuit, making it challenging to correlate with the power consumption of individual electrical devices. iSure EMS, on the other hand, offers a device-specific monitoring and inspection system, providing a more detailed power consumption analysis compared to circuit-based smart meters.

Collaboration with Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)

In response to the impending international 'carbon tariffs,' the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs has been executing the 'Enhancing Green Competitiveness for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Response to Net Zero Carbon Trends' project since 2022. We have collaborated with the ITRI team responsible for implementing this project to develop a big data analysis model for electrical device power consumption. Utilizing AI big data analysis techniques, we generate comprehensive EMS analysis reports, assisting domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, especially those in the manufacturing sector, in implementing smart energy management solutions. The collaboration with ITRI also includes expanding into business areas.

Office Equipment Power Monitoring

UEC has also partnered with the Canon Group (Canon International) for the implementation of the EMS smart energy management solution. According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Energy Bureau's '2022 Annual Report on Energy Audits in Non-Production Industries,' 192 large office buildings consumed a total of 1.29 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. Air conditioning and lighting are the top two energy-consuming components in office buildings, with office equipment ranking as the third-largest source of power consumption. Among office equipment, printers are considered the most crucial category. The Canon Group is the largest printer distributor in Taiwan, and as such, UEC and the Canon Group are working on an electricity monitoring project with a focus on printers. This collaboration aims to introduce EMS smart energy management solutions into office spaces.

UEC provides a more EMS energy-saving solution.

Green transformation starts with electricity.

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

For SMEs, power consumption from air conditioning, lighting, office equipment, etc., often hides within individual devices, becoming an invisible burden on operational costs.

Various Institutions and Residences

For care institutions, senior homes, community buildings, homestays, etc., home safety is closely related to electricity usage. Understanding the usage patterns of electrical appliances is crucial for one’s safety and the well-being of others.

Factories and Large Appliances

In factories with public facilities, production lines, power systems, etc., understanding power consumption not only saves costs but also enhances maintenance and operational efficiency.

Shops and Business Locations

For stores in the 3C electronics industry, fitness centers, convenience stores, etc., precise power monitoring helps manage electricity, ensuring both safety and efficiency.
