Penghu Pilot Area Proof of Concept (POC)
UEC collaborated with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Department of Information Management at Penghu University of Science and Technology for a field verification of iSure. In 2022, the project was conducted in four townships in Penghu County: Magong, Huxi, Erkan, and Qianliao. A total of 100 AI smart sockets were installed in the homes of individuals aged 65 and above, providing home care services for the elderly. The project received extremely positive feedback in terms of user satisfaction.
According to the concluding report from Penghu University of Science and Technology, iSure demonstrated effectiveness in four major aspects: life safety protection, daily routine notifications, emergency abnormal notifications, and physiological condition notifications. In the context of elderly individuals living alone and non-cohabiting family members or social workers, iSure’s AI smart and precise care can be considered ‘a comprehensive intermediary service provider.’
Collaborative Project in Pingtung Region
In 2023, UEC signed a letter of intent for collaboration with the Pingtung County Government. The agreement involves installing iSure AI smart sockets in 1,000 households of elderly individuals in Pingtung County, introducing iSure services. Currently, in collaboration with the Pingtung County Government’s Department of Social Affairs, interviews are being conducted with the elderly to plan service functionality requirements. This includes the complete iSure service architecture, encompassing AI smart sockets, IoT Gateway data transmission gateways, AI big data platforms, a web-based user information dashboard, and a user mobile app. The goal is to establish a comprehensive iSure home care service that caters to the diverse needs of the elderly, their family members, social welfare organizations, and social workers.
